Apart from possibly weakening the frame I think the merry tillers were designed for 5bhp engines. If that is the case the 6.5bhp engine will stress the old frame and drive mechanism 30% beyond design limits before allowing for possible misalignments. Can you not find an old 5hp Briggs & Stratton knocking around?

possibly it has 3.5hp on at mo but needs new exhaust and leaks petrol real bad so weighing up cost of repair etc and new engine this was quite a reasonable option

the engine in your link would no doubt fit. It's a chineese honda engine. A lot of people have fitted the honda engines in the past. As Eristic says though, the one in your link may well be too powerfull, and will start to damage the frame work quite quickly. Why not get in touch with the seller and see if they do a smaller size?
As for the other engine, now, that IS old.
I don't think i would unless you enjoy spending 3 hours getting it going and 1 hour rotavating your plot.... :D

Try and find a robin which is a copy more or less of the honda G100. It will be light and powerfull.
