Sorry i cannot recommend anyone, as I'm miles away from you, but is it worth looking at local dog walkers/cat sitters etc.....  I have booked with a local company who mainly see to cats/dogs, but the lady who runs it has a farming background....Rather than up-rooting my girls to somewhere strange, causing stress etc, I am away for 8 nights, and have booked for her to visit my home/coop 3 times per day, (early morning clean/feed, afternoon corn feed, and then to lock them up at bedtime), at a cost of £6.00 per visit, which also includes seeing to my cat, so £18.00 per day, total just short of £150.00....and the girls get to stay at "home".... Hope you find something suitable.

Are there any local trustworthy teenagers who would be happy to help for a bit of cash. It will be better for your chooks if they can be looked after at home. Even any adults are likely to be cheaper than boarding places. Could you promise eggs during the spring and summer for help? Just a thought :)

Woukd it be possible to set up a 'sitter' service via this website. I wold be delighted to help others out in my local area rather than having to put chickens into 'boarding' and at no charge if he favour was reciprocated?
Is this something we could do?
