That's so sad Pamela.  :( You must feel utterly deflated after all the work and worry. There was nothing more you could have done. xx

:(  So sad and sorry Pamela.  Please take comfort in the fact that his last memories were of the love and kindness shown by you and the vets.  Rest in peace Poppet.   :(

:( I can only add my sympathies, Pamela. You did your best and the little fella passed on knowing someone cared which made a huge difference.

Oh Pamela, there is nothing I can add to what the others have said.

You did your best and gave poppet as much as you could.  Shame it just wasn't to be.   :( :( :(

I think why I wanted to help him so much was because of our Chihuahua being killed, by a Bull Mastiff in a similar situation.

My sister is trying to persuade me to have the Golden Lab they have there!

ah God bless you Pamela!  sorry your little chap died, but he knew kindness at the end, poor little man. Don't try taking too much on now, YOU need to be looked after too.
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

So sorry to hear your news. You did all you could and showed him so much love and affection in his last hours so be proud of that.

It was maybe for the best, who knows what sort of problems he might have had trauma wise?   It would have been terrible if he had turned from a happy dog to a terrified dog.  At least he was on medication for the pain, and the vet cared enough to watch him during the night.
