Hi there I started off my onions on the 15th of January in a colder utility room as I don't have a heated green house and they germinated at 60f after 5 days then got to the crook stage about 12 days. Iam just worried they are early and will get leggy I have a uv for them I just don't want to heat the room amy more as it's big and the room is small i could take a few bulbs out as it has a few. Or will they be fine on the window cill . Won't let me post picture saying to large. There about 2 /2.5 inches tall

Suggestion from last year was that window sill is fine, but set up a piece of card covered in silver foil to reflect as much light as possible back onto the seedlings. They don't need warmth but they do need as much quality light as possible to stop them getting too leggy.

Thanks very much for replying. It's my first year on my own and don't want to do anything wrong again thank you 😀😀😀

I have my onions out in the blowaway for the increase light. The O/N temps were down to -8C last week. They're very cold tolerant. They'll be planted out within the next week if the soil temperature is high enough when i check tomorrow.
Even though I'm a little further south than UK, i only notice about 3 weeks difference in the growing schedules.

I don't think many of the onion club are growing for show onions, but we have a thread for those that start early with their seeds :)

Mine are on a cool bright windowsill with a tinfoil reflector, just as mjg suggests :)
