Title: Lamiaceae family as shown on GW
Post by: Broadhaven on May 29, 2010, 15:22
I was watching GW last week and just loved the Lamiaceae family that Carol Klein was showing. Can I grow these from seed and where can I buy them. Been looking on the net and can't find any seeds for sale.

Wow thanks.. don't suppose you saw that episode of GW. Not sure which Lamiaceae it was from the list you sent. Is it raining where you are? Its pouring here. Been in greenhouse this morning and planted my toms, so just surfing the net now and chilling!!

I had a quick look on the iPlayer.

She talked about Lamium ovala
Rosemaries
Ajuga Reptans
Salvias

Watch out for Lamiums and Ajugas, they can take you over!

I've got them invading a bit of the garden with Alkanol and Yarrow. Pinky-purple, cobalt blue and white...really pretty...but you need to keep them under control!!! They act as great ground cover. No weeding!!!
Some think they ARE weeds......
