Tesco Eggs Being Hatched!!
« on: February 21, 2007, 22:47 »
Hiya

We were googling earlier, and found the following:

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/129/129036_chick_from_tesco_takes_the_biscuit.html

A Tesco's rare breed eggs hatched under a broody hen. God knows if the poor thing'll be very healthy, though it looks OK.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/3977759.stm

I'm, a veggie, and I prefer to know that my eggs aren't fertilised, one of the reasons we have hens (and baby quails).

Has anyone tried it? I'm intruiged!!! They are all from free range farms.

I've just done a search and there's a few tales, and that's only for Tesco!! What about Sainsburys, Asda, etc, lol...?

Cheers

a fertised egg wont hurt ya unles its a chick inside forming . as for rare breeds it wil be as there is a cockerel running with them , rare bred eggs is just another marketing ploy .i can stick u six  of a rare breed n six from a barn or free range bird and incidently some new pol battery birds and unles u do a dna test you couldnt tell the difference .
still alive /............

Hiya

Gawd, I'm still chucking any bought eggs with blood spots in. I know they're OK, it's just the fact that it's there, lol.

Oh, and Muntjac, how long can you hang a pheasant for before eating? Unfortunately hubby eats meat, I tried for three years to get him to stop, before admitting defeat, lol. Oh well, at least he's eating organically, lol.

Did you see on BBC1 breakfast news that a little girl in Devon has hatched 2 ducklings from eggs that they bought for breakfast!!!!! They were not supposed to be fertile - she put then in the incubator and 4 weeks later got Slish and Splosh. :D  :?    :!:
