mugged by a chicken
« on: May 24, 2010, 14:44 »
well eating lunch outside is now out of bounds if the chickens are out, have you ever tried to eat a fruit salad in a glass bowl with a chicken on the table, one on your shoulder and one on your knee ? i would not mind, but we have made a point not to give any treats to these, they just jump up.
we also need a gate on the kitchen door, as soon as it is open they are all in after the dogs food, for just over 2 weeks at home they are very forward......naughty girls

That's all signs of happy, confident hens.  Well done you.  But you probably will need to eat inside from now on.   ::)
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

Maybe that's your problem! They wouldn't need to pinch it if you were giving it away! :D
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

It wasn't so long ago when one of my girls had a sandwich out of my hand when it was on the way to my mouth!  Normally I would have laughed it off, but it was a chicken sandwich, and I don't want my girls to be cannibals (even though they are given half a chance)

thanks for that kate, lol, they still are not getting any treats, they dont even want the corn that has come out of the bird feeders, they prefer to dig for worms, it is now 9 at night, and they wont go into the run, they are in the bushes digging.

Or a sticking plaster on your toe.  You'll never be short of a chicken peering hopefully at your foot . . . might be edible?!  Yum ::)
