Title: Hi from an old newbie
Post by: stevekind on February 07, 2016, 00:03
Hi. Just taken on my first allotment for  25 years at coming up to 69 years old. Although I've been gardening for 30 years, up until now my veg growing has been restricted to 4 16foot by 4 foot raised beds at home. Looking forward to planting stuff in ROWS on an allotment  :D

The plot - which is shared with my wife and another couple (who are merely middle aged - good help with the heavy digging  ::) is on a Model Allotments site in Leeds with excellent, well drained soil and the intention is to grow all the space consuming stuff such as brassicas, main crop potatoes, squashes, bush and cane fruit up there, keeping the existing raised beds at home for salads, strawberries early potatoes and other things that need a closer eye kept on them. Looking forward to exchanging notes and getting advice on here. Glad to meet you all

Hello and welcome.

Sounds like you've got it all planned out and sussed, by the way! Hope it all comes to fruition and that you have lots of fun along the way.

Hi from a new newbie!

I'm excited about growing my own veggies but finding it a bit scary too, which is why I've joined this forum for support.
