Greenhouse insulation
« on: September 14, 2006, 15:08 »
Hi

For a number of years I have had an aluminium 12x8 greenhouse

Every year I try to insulate part/all of it to be able to use heating effectively and to get an early start on plants like peppers etc.
But
Every year I find that what I have tried to do is next to useless.
Would there be some kind soul who could guide me in how to make a successfully insulated greenhouse
o
direct me to some links that will help

many thx
Smurf

Well, I give up! I spend half last night sending out an email to everyone because I've begged, wheedled and sucked up to TwoWests and got them to discount some bits just for us - including Greenhouse Insulation!! :)
But no one takes any notice harumph

I looked, I looked, honest.
But I have to build my greenhouse first.
We all appreciate your efforts.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

That's great!!

Now - what would be good to see on offer for November / December?

I can't make any promises but I can put ideas forward to them.

I'm after one of those foldaway workstations for myself, btw - plus various bits for the greenhouses on the plot.

I'll suggest it - you never know.

Paraffin used to be so common but now you have to hunt for a supplier - our allotment association supplies it  and I know of one shop in Crewe that sells it.

Hooray! Might need one of those. Although I'm going to try heat sinks as well.
I'm going to buy some of their watering stuff when I've actually built my greenhouse. Looks simple to use.

I got my paraffin heater for £1 at a local auction.  Now all I need is the money to buy some paraffin!!!!!

Anyone want some nice free range eggs in exchange for some paraffin????

Shortly after I got my Mantis for £180 on ebay, the chap 2 plots down showed me the Mantis (newer model) he'd just got for £30.00 at an auction.

About typical!
