Plastic lean-too 'growhouse'
« on: April 18, 2013, 16:56 »
Hi chaps, I have bought a small (5' high) 4 tier plastic growhouse for hardening off as all the available window sills were getting full and I really wanted to transfer the little seedlings (for tomatoes peppers etc) into 3" pots before putting in their final position (12" pots on a sunny balcony) ... to get to the point, the only spot that my wife will allow me to place this 'monstrosity' is against a wall that only gets the sun for a few hours in the morning, am I wasting my time ? (I've heard that these things can overheat in full sun so maybe no bad thing ? Best Roger

it should work fine as a cold frame but toms and peppers can still only go out there during the day and back indoors at night.
Even in an inheated greenhouse a frost will kill them.
