I'd second that, ours do well in Morrison's flower buckets.

I got a batch of plastic crates several years ago, removed the flaps and drilled drainage holes. Each one takes two plants - 2 aubergines, 2 cucs, 2 tomatoes, etc.. they're big enough to hold a fair bit of water in the soil, so no need to water every day when it's toasty in the greenhouse.
