Hi guys,i have inherited a Merry Tiller with a u/s Briggs and Stratton engine.I have seen these fitted with Honda engines and was wondering if anyone knew how easy this conversion is ie. which engine they use and is it a straight forward swap? Regards Ken

This should be easy enough. just check the engine you buy has matching shaft size(usually a 3/4"). The mounting hole will be the same and the drive shaft relative to the mounting bolt holes will be the same. then just mount the throtle cable and start her up. then head to the alotment. Honda do a budget range which is very afforable.

I understand it's quite an easy conversion. Don't be tempted to put a bigger/ more powerfull engine on though, The frame often cracks because it wasn't built to take it.

I notice there are quite a few good deals around on engines at present. have a look on ebay, and as BBF above points out, make sure you get the same shaft size.

I am going to fit a Honda GC135 to my bantam. At 3.6 hp its plenty.
