Title: Apple cider vinegar
Post by: LILLILEAF on September 11, 2022, 16:28
Has any one had a go at making apple cider vinegar?, i have some bubbling away nicely its only been 5 days so i mix it twice a day it has a cover on it so the air can get to it, just using peelings and the cores water and sugar.
Only time will tell if it works its not a quick process.

Next stage of apple cider vinegar came quicker than i thought, the bubbles have now stop so its time to strain,  all the apple bits from the vinegar solution. So now there is a nearly clear liquid in a clean bucket, place the muslin cloth over the top so the air can still get to, i will mix it every few days,so its the waiting game till i get the taste required, but its not for me its for the hens, its very good for them once a month 10ml for every litre of water.Lets hope it works i have lots of apples still to process.Lillileaf

Have ordered some ph test strips so i can keep an eye on the acidity levels, what you need to try and get is a ph of 3-3.5.
I am going to try it myself as looking at the reviews on apple cider vinegar its very good to aid digestion a teaspoon before your meal it helps with good gut bacteria so therefore aids digestion.
