What about Buff Orpington banties, I've found mine to be the friendliest, quiet, gentle birds, quite different to the noisy, slightly aggresive Wyandotte's. They may possibly be easier to source.

thankyou.... :)  i have put a wanted add on the swapping pages etc to see if anyone has anything they think suitable, and would be interested in sending me a few spare eggs... i wouldnt mind hatching a few different breeds...i might keep a few for myself once hatched if i have a good hatch rate.... plan on filling my incy if i can.... want to avoid using my own eggs incase i end up keeping them  (dont want daddy having fun with daughters....not got enough room to split them)

£18 for 6 sounds a bit steep to me Chookie

Most I paid on ebay was £5 - obviously had to put postage on top of that.

The worst experience I had with e-bay was the Turkey eggs :(

I try and go "with buy it now"'s  rather than bidding which lets be honest can get a bit silly

I have it my mind that the BIN's are people who genuinely want to sell eggs rather than make as much money as possible - that's just my opinion though :)

what will you do with any boys that hatch?

Just curious as we are looking at doing the same in the spring.
Plot 11L Woodhall allotments, Chelmsford, Essex.

It's against the law in Australia to fornicate with a kangaroo.................unless you are drunk!!!  Otherwise, it'd be disgusting :@

i am hoping that my nice farmer friend will take them... i am going to try and source unrelated eggs...(big ask) so if it comes to it and the farmer cant take them then at least i might be able to breed from them and perhaps sell the eggs....i also have a friend who is going to split the cost of the eggs with me, so he is going to take some of the chicks...if he gets them whilst they are young then what he does with his share or males is for him to sort...if he is owt like me he will make another house and run... :D :D :D
