Broody pekin - where can I get fertile eggs from?
« on: April 21, 2010, 18:37 »
My partridge Pekin is broody she was the last to come into lay and the first to be broody!  :nowink:
I don't have a cockerel but would quite like to put a few eggs under her and see what happens! Could anyone suggest somewhere where I can get fertile bantams from - ideally pure breeds?

Try poultry swap pages here - or check the poultry breeders lists - some of them list hatching eggs or I have this page bookmarked as a just in case

http://www.freewebs.com/hatchingeggsonline/hatchingeggsforsale.htm

I live very near Melton, but I work on Tuesday so I can't go then, the next Saturday auction isn't until May 3rd and she may have stopped being broody by then. I'll have a look at the sites you have suggested - thank you :)

I have Dutch and Belgian D'anver eggs. Not too far away from you either.

There are three signs of old age. The first is your loss of memory, the other two I forget.

I can let you have a few araucana eggs (have proved to be 100% fertile this year) if you want  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
