Title: Greenhouse glass panels.
Post by: Kleftiwallah on November 18, 2020, 18:11
Good evening everyone,    just modified a pressure washer to blast out the crud/algae between the glass panes.  It got me thinking, why don't we leave a greater gap between the panes so algae won't grow?  The next major stripdown I'll do this.

(I moded the lance by fitting a 90 bend halfway down).

Cheers,  Tony. :)

Thinking out loud - If you leave a bigger gap, wont wind be able to get in and blow panes out in a gale?

Algae seems to like these growing conditions.

I see we even have some growing in the cills on the car windows... Also, the sycamore seeds like to grow in the windscreen wiper hollows!

Can I borrow your blaster please?

About 10 years since I carefully built my greenhouse, spending ages fitting those fiddly little rubber glazing strips, many of which subsequently fell out one by one...  :(

...to be replaced by algae, which has done an equally good job of securing the panes so far!
