Husqvarna 165 brushcutter
« on: February 19, 2014, 18:51 »
I wonder if anyone can help.I've been offered a husqie 165 and although it looks and feels like a good machine with plenty of compression and a good starter im not sure how old the machines are as I can't find any information on this.Im a bit worried that if its quite old parts might be expensive and fue and far between.Any information on them would be greatly appreciated

If it runs - it is Worth about 100-150 BPS in Sweden.
Vendors like to ask much more...
IF it does not run...
The ignition coil and braker plate/funtion is an integrated part, this has long since been discontinued...

I would recommend that you look for a newer HQ, 245, 340, something.
However - the 165 is awesome when it works!

I have one, that I "mended" for a friend last spring. It worked when I gave it back to him. When he needed it running, it died after about 10 min... I took that personally, so I and the 165 had unfinnished business (!)
My friend gave me the stubborn machine and bought himself a new toy - so, in time, I will fix this 165. One needs some special Tools - cost of the needed Tools is 50-100 BPS.

Didn't I start a string about this HQ 165 R last summer?

HQ 165 is about 30 years old... All parts have been discontinued since over a decade...
It is an -old- brushcutter, of excellent quallity.

It is awesome  :)

I've found a garden machinery trader that keeps most of the decent stuff that people partx when they buy new eqpt or just leave there when they don't want them fixed. Theyv'e got three HQ165's for spares and a lot of the original parts brand new in their boxes. Also found out that they've got plenty of parts for my old Stihl 024AV chainsaw.Great
