Can't make it out, sorry
As Richy says tartans were very plain way back. As more were designed they had to (out on necessity) become more intricate and colourful. Most clan tartans prevailing today were 'invented' by 19th century mill owners as a marketing ploy. The wearing of tartan was prohibited after Culloden in 1746 (only about 100 years earlier). The first exception permitted was wearing regimental tartans in the Scottish regiments.
Mac millan clan bashing some poor Englishman out for a walkYeah but we note that the wimp took along someone to help him out. Looks more like a Buchanan tartan to me ...
Buchanan? really ? I don't think I've got a print of that one, got Bonny Prince Charlie in Stewart tartan (is that right ?) etc will have a look tomoz for Buchanan .

A bit posh for the shed Yorkie.
Can you imagine what it would be like when Shaun et al have been in cleaning their rotovators
They'd take the BBQ to bits for spares
Now look, this is getting tiring, flitting between both of these sheds.
I'm gonna stay in the "proper one" you know, the red one.
fluffing?, fluffing!?
can't say i do either.
Does it go sort of, "boom, boom, chatter, clatter, fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?
By any chance?

I'm getting a bit cold locked in this shed, nearly two months since anyone dropped by.
Someone got a spare key to let me out?

I've found some very interesting reading. You can leave me here for the night.
I've found Shaun's matches so I can light a fire to see by.
Don't worry dear - the tank is full of Bodger's cider :drunken:I've tried Bodger's cider, I hope that tank is well ventilated if you know what I mean.
No need to overly worry, i found this in a book (i think someone used it as a book mark).

Nothing can possibly go wrong now.
I can't 'do' flash so I don't know what we were talking about. I thought George or Brad came into it or was it Ronan or Gary.We watched a video of The Prodigy's song Firestarter.
well I don't remember that, all I recall is that we were having a really intelligent conversation. Did I drop off because I do tend to sleep walk when under stress.I think we should keep this to ourselves and not tell anyone. Least said, soonest mended.
The heater is here but we're still waithing for Shaun to fit it

I'm not sure we can wait for Shaun.
He'd use the fabric for cleaning rotovators, I couldn't trust him
You bought it, you say?
How very odd. :?
I fancy a nice Alan Titchmarsh blue. Any other thoughts ?!Harrumph, it's a shed, not a beach hut. >:( :tongue2:
bright blue always gets tongues wagging
Don't be so grumpy Ice :tongue2:Oi, you, outside. :tongue2:

No not blue pallets......Norty step for you if Aunt Sally hears about that
No not blue pallets......Norty step for you if Aunt Sally hears about that
Yeah, but that blue paint will help it to burn better....... ;)
NOooo... not again Dugless. We've already lost one shed because you painted it and we can't see it now :ohmy:Well we could put a light on it then we will find it ::) ::)
I propose an extension to the existing shed. For a hot tub.
And you look better in vertical stripes, Rich. :tongue2:
New addition to my shed recently........ a carpet! ;)A carpet? A carpet Now I really am jealous :nowink:
Actallly, one has two carpets. 8)
One on the floor, where you might expect it to be, and the other over the top of the old Howard rotovator (it's in disguise!!) to keep it out of view from the local burglars!!
The carpets (a kind gift from my elderly parents as they have new "runners" and wanted rid of the old ones) were not large enough to stick over the whole compost heap... so shed floor and rotovator. ;)
Looks pretty - blue pattern. :)
Oh, one does, does one  have you thought of blinds... very 'now' I hear
Just need advice from Auntie about matching curtains....but without the boot sized mud patches. (I'm sure I'd find use for a pair of curtains)....
In a shed there is absolutely no need to match curtains to carpet. You can be as eclectic as you like and allow your imagination to run riot. I have even been know to team blue floral curtains with a red tartan carpet
I know it sounds shocking but it really worked ;)
Indeed you have
This is the real one ;)
Excuse me while I sew up my sides..... :tongue2: ::) :D

i remember......that must have been summer ::)Yeh.. and with all this
Sounds like it will be a real voyage of discovery in that shed Learner
Wow, wasn't expecting that   Mind you, you probably weren't either
Hope the new shed is rat proof
Perhaps we get more realistic as we get older? :nowink:

What...all over Christmas...just so Yorkie can have candles
Can't we settle for the pretend ones with batteries in.....quite effective nowadays...Please

Just what Richie an I need for stuffing in this Guy Fawkes.
He should "go up" very nicely with those inside.... :)
there'll be plenty of those when auntie finds out we've burnt her cushions ;)
I told you not to wake me up until spring!
You're a bit behind then, Rich. You know me don't like to rush things .
Anyone seen my potatoes? I'm sure I left them here to chit :D
Also, where's the candles...

Share them around I'll have made some more by tomorrow for those who miss out
...And I think everyone will agree there really is nothing more essential than some nice fresh, plump cushions
You're very slow this year Mr WIZ. We've all got seedlings of all varieties - 2 ft high now ::)
I do wish Auntie would start using proper cotton, it's far more absorbent ;)
Always handy to wipe the sump of your rotavator down with :D not very good round the tines they tend to rip easy, I prefer the curtains for that job
New cushions of course dear ::)
If your going to lob it at the pigeons it dont want to have a soft filling some thing heavy would be better, if you got a good shot you could knock out the pigeons then cook them up in the shed.
My shed presently needs a visitor - Me!
I am so looking forward to getting down there for a while... if it is too cold or too wet to do anything I am just going to tidy and fiddle about... make tea and sit and think.
Half-term week..... so I can squeeze a bit of time for me.... get ready for the next six week haul, visit family, complete house repairs (why do they break things when I am at work??) and breath in a bit of peace quiet and empty space.... all on my own while letting the rest of the world turn without me pushing just for once. ;)

Brick sounds good to me with a real proper fire-place / stove for roasting chestnuts, toasting muffins and boiling a kettle. :)
Thatched roof for a countrified look?

That's a relief ;)
What colour scheme shall we use ?

Rotovator racing sounds brilliant... there'll have to be at least two categories though... manned and un-manned to start with then different horse-power. My Howard 200 will toddle off all on its own if I let go of the handles - I often have to catch up with it when I'm on the new 1/2 plot and I've stopped to oik out a bit of wire / glass or string from the soil and it hasn't noticed I've stopped! ::)
Darts for indoors, hoe-downs near the front-door (we need a covered viewing platform for when it rains) and then cctv monitoring for the big races... "The Rotovator Run".
Specialist hoe sections = onion hoe, draw and dutch hoes - what about a swoes obstacle course? :)
Quiet moments...smalllarge lager fridge to keep the drinks cool and comfortable cushions on long wooden benches... Hessian covered would be fine - multi-use so ideal for collecting the spuds in later ;)

Boys - anything you want to do must have a risk assessment form filled out first and submitted to me in quintruplicate on45 differenct coloured sheets !
Personal Protective Equipment must be the last measure to be employed.
Lowering the likelihood of an accident happening and inherent risks should be controlled first ::)
Learner  just because you now have more time on your hands doesn't mean you have to start encouraging those naughty boys to misbehave.
It even sounds as if you want to join in  ....I don't believe it ::)

Literacy  then why are most of the school children illiterate now ?
Bring back precis, comprehension and clause analysis I say. That would teach them ::)
I've always found it very benificial to know the difference abetween adverbial and adjectival clauses ::)
Everything has to be fun nowadays. Gone are the days when the teacher said you can't go out to play until you've finished your essay :(
It's a sad but true fact that we are all resistant to change :(
So we'll have no change here.
No darts.
No mower racing.
No wheel barrow jousting !
Just gentle planting seeds and making compost
I thin you mean the cocoa dispenser Learner >:(

Now you're talking Auntie! For me it's Earl Grey (but not the nasty new blend twinings have come up with >:( )
There's nothing nicer than a decent cuppa especially when the weather's warming up.:) But is has to be strong.
I have a nice wicker armchair in my shed.
I've yet to make cushions for it though - not for want of materials - more for want of time!
I have a little camping gas stove in my shed for making tea but my mates almost always up the plot and he's the tea-boy! He has a whole gas bottle thing connected up to his gas oven so unlimited supply of hot water!
Mines a nice cup of Jasmine Earl Grey - no milk or sugar (no pollutants ;) )
Emma

The decor of our shed needs great care and attention to detail ::)Especially when one is using Farrow and Ball paint.
Estate Emulsion of course, none of the modern stuff - so inferior ::)Naturally. In the words of that great song "I second that emulsion"
somehow paul, I think you just got your pass card for the shed revoked! sys admin wont stand, or sit on nice cushions, for such suggestions ... ::)

Room for a little one in here ? I promise to wipe my boots on the way in :)
Can't see Auntie approving of woodchip Paul  That I suspect, would never ever do. I see her as more of a tasteful floral wallpaper lady ;) :)
I always use a teapot and china mugs in my shed. A girl has to have some standards :D I too have a wicker chair and draped over it (so it doesn't dig into my bony ar*e) is a genuine Chinese rug
I like a bit of luxury when I'm having my tea break, although my choice of drink at the moment is hot choc.
If you have a shed it has to be comfortable!
Wallpaper? Good idea - we can collect empty seed packets and staple them nicely on the walls. :)

Hey, what are you doing in here ?
Off you go and get on with some gardening ::)
What has she been touching >:(Hey chill auntie, chill like the ice maiden, you will find out soon enough, but please don't look in the heated propermigater man. 8)
have you been at the whacky baccy again, or is it still growing :dry:I don't know what you mean, I'm developing a new strain of bolt free coriander, nuffink dodgy. ;) 8)
Oh, I understand - you're depressed cos Usain's gone home now :nowink:Yeah, that must be it...... ;) Nothing to see here, move along. 8)
well Chintz IS so last decade.........
Think this may go beyond a quick redecorate ::) I'll see if I can ferret out some wood and go fetch a hammer ;)
I think someone has stolen the curtain and cushions

Perhaps that's the one I saw at the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum?
Preferences for colour?
I'm hoping this shed has a heater in it - going on the temperatures here in soggy Devon - it's flippin' chilly
I've still got some camaflarge paint :D :DPreferences for colour?
Do you have any rainbow paint ?
I've still got some camaflarge paint :D :D
Sorry about the mess. I have, by way of an apology, left the heating and lighting I used for my 'experiment' ;) 8)
Others keep putting them up, and I keep taking them down, they're a fire and trip hazard.
well you do have to have Elf n safety this time of year!
Anyone know where the corkscrew went
I've installed the fire for mulling up the homebrew wine. Anyone know where the corkscrew went :unsure:It's beautiful New Shoot, you've done the shed proud! I'll just get my 'Frank Sinatra Sings Christmas' CD...
I've taken down all the unnecessary flim-flam.
You may put the decorations up again next weekend.
will help Newshoot replace all the Flimflam as soon as she is ready. And if Gwiz doesn't take em down again, I might be persuaded to bring along a wee tincture to keep us warm too
well my takeaway curry feast for 10 won't need heating! mind you, I don't know what the rest of you will be eating!
If it's Christmas dinner.... I'd bring along (if I was invited)
I'm on the door ! No tickets no entry 8)Oh no, hide the matches and watch what happened during Shaun's last bought of madness.
Drink enough of Plum's special Christmas punch and nothing will bother you
Your not hanging tinsel on my tiller !
You are not allowed to play with your tiller at Christmas time
Put it away
I really don't see the problem with my electrics.

I needed to keep a certain element out of the shed (those with matches) so I have had it camouflaged

My grannie would have told you off for doing laundry on a sunday! and easter sunday to compound the crime. Tut. sigh. (She would be spinning in her grave if she knew all my domestic sins! ;))
Now where's my easter bonnet with all the bows upon it? I need it to sit somewhere as posh as this !
Just a thought, but as we are in June by the weekend, should we start planning a solstice shed shindig :) I have some raspberry vodka still kicking about and planning on pruning the bay trees soon, so could knock up some fetching leafy headgear for everyone :D
I have a bottle of sloe vodka ...

With some mulled cider. :)
I hope you are not having that bonfire near the shed whot ho ::) ::)
Too early for "B"-fires? Such a shame as they warm the heart when all around is sinking into chill and darkness. (There's been a bit of that where I am.)
Cider, on the other hand, sounds exactly what's needed. If ever I get time I'll be a gathering-up the ton of windfalls and searching for a juice hex-tractor on he-bay. :tongue2:
Sounds like a plan, plum! :D
I got curry
I got whisky
I got pals
I got a shed
let's do this!
For me.... (and willing to share).... The Singelton.... 12 yr old single malt
only have the one bottle but it's lasted since 25th December last year with lots of good strong tea and coffee inbetween. :)
I'm drinking this, if anyone fancies a drop ;)
Anyone got an aspirin? ::)Like work as long as you left it alone
A bit of that plunk plunk fizz never did no-one no harm ... ;)
can do lemon tea or chai - but I'm out earl grey, sorry :dry:Oooh Chai please
just the one? :blink:It's large?!
:D The idea would be nice. A lovely soft place to rest these old bones. However I fear we have so much rain water running down through our old shed that a cushion (or anything for that matter) would soon be seen floating off down the plot on a rainy day!Perhaps you should moor a boat
Are we going to put up the decorations soon? Some of the Christmas trees we've had in the past have been quite 'interesting' although I do remember a few may have started a fire or two? :D
I'm sure we aren't all completely clumsy around candles! :)
Candles  you won't be allowed candles oh no no no :nowink:
You'll have to get some of those LED lights that run on batteries - much safer for in here ;)
Sorry Paul, do you mean a Solar panel? We do get a bit more sun down here in the 'sarf' so may get enough to power the lights for the evening. Got to be safer anyway. :D
I'm working all day but I'll be done by 8pm ;)
It’s got your name on it Yorkie, cheers
Sings "Chestnuts roasting round an open fire....." sounds a tad uncomfortable to me, but each to their own :D
Boiled peanuts???!!!
Boiled peanuts???!!!
Nothing I’ve heard of before
But I’ve found a recipe:
https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/boiled_peanuts/
If Auntie doesn't get her cake we all know what happens…
:D You can't have started on all of them, surely??
Wighty, will you let me know when I can put the marzipan and fondant icing on?
Was it an ‘approved’ school, SP ? :nowink:
But did they approve of you, SubP. ::)
That sounds delightful :D Other sheds you said

Forget it young lady. We have it on a revolving schedule so the cakes are constantly on the move. Not that we don’t trust you of course …
Auntie and Worzel I do hope your table manners are going to improve. I wouldn't accept that sort of thing from even my youngest grandchild!I’ll ave you know, Miss Whyte, that Worzel hand I haz hexelents table abits. All children’s is ikkey anyway >:(
Anyway I have made some shortbread today and some mince pies, they too have been hidden round the country.Thank you for that hinformation, Worzel will get the scarecrow fraternity on to it.

Now that the shortbread and mince pies in the country are safely hidden, you might want to look after whatever made it's way into the cities and villages! :D Especially if you see scarecrows lurking about :nowink: ... That's a dead give away in the city :).
like hard balls:lol:  (Am I allowed to say that )
I quiteQuotelike hard balls:lol:  (Am I allowed to say that )
Ok who’s donating their sprouts for ‘the’ meal and more importantly have they put them on to boil yet? :nowink:

Boil? Not for me, thank you. Thin sliced on a mandolin and stir-fried (either with butter, or Chinese-style) until they soften and barely start to brown, then yes please!
You should now have no need of that rouge on your cheeks as you have been found out as a greedy person. I've spoken to the Crowman, expect a visit. I've crossed y our name off the list on the cupboard as yo u've already had your share. I did have a few more recipes I wanted to experiment with.
Too late for excuses now we know what you're like >:(
No deserts  You is mean, Wytey >:(
As I is not welcum to have any of your cakes, Worzel said he’s baking one for me in the shed.
His a very kind scarecrow.
Hmmmm… I thinks I needs a word with him. >:(
I see I am going to be busy tonight and probably all day tomorrow re-writing the lists of shopping requirements, menus for over the festive period and the list of who wants what when.
Wot sort of cake is biscwoti ?
I do notice that Aunty hasn't answered the question about whether the pickles and chutneys are safe. :D
Hoo’s put all these tatoes in here to chit already. Worzel hasn’t evenstolenbought ours yet.
