Mrs Robin has built her nest on a shelf straight in front of the door in. I had left some ornamental grass cuttings, in the little bin, and she has used those along with some leaves, and there was a piece of the green stuff with white felt backing, for water retention and she has built underneath that, she is very lovely and cosy.
I try to crawl on my knees, so that she won't see me and slide the door open each day, but the poor plants and succulents are looking as if they need a drink - well they will have to wait until the Robins move on.
I feel so honoured she has chosen me. :D regards Mrs Bouquet

That reminds me of the year that Mrs Wren built her nest in one of the 'cups' in my strawberry barrel, which meant I couldn't water it for fear of wetting her nest. My hubby was a bit upset not to get any strawberries, but she raised three chicks, so that was compensation for the loss.

Sadly our robin has deserted the nest after laying 4 eggs! No idea why, the male bird seemed quite attentive but the female was always reluctant to sit on the eggs. :unsure: :(

Mrs Bouquet if you leave the door ajar just so a cat can't get in,,, but go in and water they will get use to that as
they will sit tight on the eggs,,, and when the chicks come water one time a week first thing in the morning then let them get on with it 2-3 weeks will be all over they would have fledged, AND if you are a lucky girl they might go again,,,, :D :D
