Shady bed

Last year broad beans did well.
It's been overwintered with grazing rye.
Apart from lettuce, spinach and endive is there anything else people have found to be OK in a bed shaded until the afternoon?
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Hamburg Parsley.  Comfrey.  Someone suggested beetroot on another thread so I'll be trying that.

*, never thought of comfrey - I've moved mine once already this year owing to the greenhouse incident - might do it in the autumn though.
