Fattening up for winter
« on: October 23, 2023, 15:28 »
Anyone else started over-eating this autumn? It's almost a ritual with me. Around this time of the year I get a craving for biscuits and cake, put on about 8lbs by Christmas and then make myself miserable in January by dieting to lose it all

Yep - could be the cold snap or could be the long nights resulting in increased boredom and more frequent fridge visits.

Oh yes, new jeans are a bit tight, round my waist, old ones are comfy - because they're a size bigger  ::)
It happens every year, so no surprise at all  :D

I've finally managed to put some weight on which I and the Hospital are h appy about.  Another 4lb to go and I'll have got to the  8 stone the Hospital asked for.  At the start of the year I was 7stone 2lb which they said was underweight.  I've found it really hard to do, to get this far.  I feel for all of you that need to loose weight but sometimes there are people on the other side who need to put it on.  I was not anorexic, I was eating normally but my metabolism just wasn't absorbing the nourishment from food it should.  Adjustments to diet and some supplements that I was short of was the diagnosis and  now seem to be working.

Does your diet include choclit, cream cakes and mashed pots with butter and cream?? If so, don't tell the others, especially Lardman and Alanincarlisle.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Yes it’s a difficult conundrum isn’t it, the season changes & so do our eating habits, the plate of salad doesn’t look as appealing or as growers of beautiful veg etc we don’t like buying tasteless offerings. Then it’s cold so you want some rib sticking dumplings etc. I empathise with you. My weight has been a struggle all my life but with help I’ve managed to finally sort it but I have to be very strong willed
