New on the site
« on: February 02, 2016, 13:53 »
Hello to everyone,
I'm new obviously, I live in North Wales and have a Landshare  site that I have had  for just over 3 years now.
Never successfully found a site that is really helpful and not obsessed with the size of their carrots! Root veg unfortunately is one thing I can't grow due to very shale oriented soil , but most other things do really well.
I'm hoping I can get some advice and maybe give some. Look forward to chatting to people.

Hi there and welcome Dobermannmann. We cannot promise there are no obsessions, we cannot even promise that answers to any questions will even agree....

... but chatting a-plenty there be!!!

Be good to have some photos of where you grow your veggies and hear about how your landshare works.

Welcome to the site  :D

Whereabouts in N Wales are you - we've a few members in that direction?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hello and welcome. We came from N Wales too. never did find a Landshare suitable and we had no allotments...so here we are.

Lovely site, more down to earth than some and very diverse

I have put a few pics in my gallery, the place was advertised on the landshare website so I took it on. It was very hard work as it was part of an old walled garden/orchard and not been touched for 35 years! I fenced part off put in beds and paths and planted as I cleared the first year. The people who own the estate saw it as unused unsightly ground so let me use it in exchange for some of the crops.

Welcome Dobermanman, how wonderful to work within a walled garden & what a waste for the owners to leave it for 35 years, does anyone else have a patch there with you.
