Title: Help on Merry Tiller Rotovator
Post by: rod on June 10, 2010, 23:52
Hi I don't know if anyone could help me out I have just purchased a Wolseley Webb Merry Tiller rotovator with the following info on the side:

Model Number:  AC 3400
Serial Number:  324 04019

Does anyone know year made, or model name i.e. wizard or titan or cadet?

As i need a manual and parts as there is no spark and currently does not start.

Thanks

Quite a useful site here might help you identify it ....

http://merrytiller.co.uk/merry-tiller-history.htm

.... failing which it might be worth contacting them as they seem to be pretty genned up on them  ;)

Hello,
An early 1980s brochure I have lists AC3400 and AC3409 as the late model Cadet ....and if I read it correctly the 3409 is asterisked as for UK sales.?  So was the 3400 for export from UK.??

Ref the engine problems......info' on engines is usually sourced from the engine manufacturer rather than the tiller manufacturer.  All good local horticultural machinery agents should be able to advise re B&S engines and hold/access spares to suit.
If you track down the Model, Type and Code numbers that are stamped into a B&S engine tin cowling..they are the key to everything.....the last set will tell you the  Year/Month/Day that the engine was made...subject to there not having been a change of engine cowling...

There should be downloadable info on spare parts from B&S website....except for some reason I can't get it to work lately on my computer....is it just me.??

Repair manuals are available to purchase.

All the best,
