Our hen, bought mid December by my  sister, laid a small but perfect egg today.

so what breed of hen and what colour egg shell (I'm sure then I can get a picture of it in my mind in the absence of the photo  )

The hen is black, with a hint of turquoise blue and some brown feathers on her chest.  Th egg was egg shaped (we have had some round ones from the other RHR hens) with some light speckles..... get the picture?
