Gosh, it's hot today.

Does anyone else notice that the eggs seem to be smaller when it gets hot? I am an egggeek and weigh mine every day, and they certainly seem to have dropped off in size as the temperature climbs.

I guess if I were a chuck I wouldn't want to squeeze a big one out in a hot nestbox

i haven't noticed them getting smaller, i have noticed them getting paler in colour.

probably using their water to cool down, eggs are high in water content.

My duck eggs have all been bigger over the last week or so! The boxes won't shut round them! Going to have to buy jumbo boxes.

We've had some bigger ones today. But they do tend to be paler in the heat.

ours are just getting bigger and bigger! the egg boxes arent big enough! and if anything, the eggs are darker in colour!
