Hello Can any one explain how television chefs are allowed to have beards when in commercial food factories all beards must be covered by  a snood  jezza

They aren't in commercial food premises, so those rules don't apply.

As Mum said, they're not cooking for the public, they're cooking in a studio. I don't have to net my beard when I'm cooking at for the family!

I think a few would lose their curb appeal if beards & moustaches were netted 😂

Tv chefs are also very fond of mixing stuff by hand wearing wristwatches and handfuls of ornate rings and other bling . :nowink:

What about hairy arms are those hairs more acceptable in food ? :)

I think the point is, as long as they aren't producing food for sale to the public, they can pretty much do as they like  ::)
Apart from clipping my hair back , so I don't keep pushing it out of my eyes, and washing my hands before I start, I'm not that fastidious and haven't killed anyone yet with my cooking

Research also suggests that extreme hygiene may be the cause of our ever more common, modern day allergies. Food for thought maybe?

Fruit straight off the tree , carrots with the soil rubbed off , as the saying goes we will each eat a peck of dirt before we die ! :)

Mumofstig mentioned hand washing, they seem to do no more than lip service to the hand washing.  Under the tap and a wipe with a clout, faster than I can type it!

Cheers,  Tony.
