Well tomorrow is 'C' Day. That's when all the spare plants I've grown and lovingly nurtured for the past 5 months head off to the compost bin.   :nowink:

In January next year can someone please remind me I only need.

Bottom Greenhouse
10 Tomatoes
2 Cukes
3 Peppers

Top Greenhouse
6 Tomatoes
6 Chilli Peppers
Can you not sell them off to neighbours for a few pennies?
I've given all my spares to my mate John ;) Saved him some pennies anyway :D

Finally found spaces for the last few squash 'extras' - just the 2 Minnesota Midget melons to plant in the seedling cloche and the greenhouses will only have the toms, cukes and peppers in

No joy this year, so far, with Basil or Tagetes  :(  Gonna have to buy some pots of Basil from the supermarket me thinks

I'll grab you a picture of gardens next door as an answer to that  :nowink:

Juggled everything around this morning to give the tomatoes which are growing more space from those which are sulking. The cukes are coming thick and fast now, picked another 2 iznik and an la diva the carmen are a lot slower though. First picking of the dwarf french beans this morning, they're not that early and have been a major pain to work around, wont be bothering again.

I know it's not too late but after 3 sowings - I'm just fed up with it

Love it.     :D

Only 3 sowings ... single digits don't qualify for sympathy  :nowink:

Got home from work this evening and tied in the tomatoes, sprayed them (having read an interesting thread about toms...) and tied them in to the framework. ;)

Big clear out over the weekend.

In the bottom GH I've potted on about a dozen of the peppers both chilli and sweet. The rest have been taken up to the top GH where I'll see if I can squash them into the beds. I also potted up my single pepino plant, it's taken 8 years of trying but I've finally germinated 1 seed. ::) If anything happens to it I'll cry.

Discarded all the leftover tomato, pepper, physalis and cucumber plants. Took all the peppers out of that duff compost and put lettuce in there, hopefully the hot peppers can be saved. The compost had a definite whiff of stagnant water to it

Potted on 2 miniature white cukes for the lean-to GH and 1 black cherry tomato Im not getting on well with the shelves in there at all so they're coming out.

Side shooted, tied in, watered and fed everything then hacked back some of the lower leaves to let everything breath more easily.

In the top GH, I put the wires up and started to string up the toms, the miniature white cukes are doing much better, not sure if thats the shading or the can of comfrey feed I gave them.  Tried to tie the cucamelons in but they're an untidy (and fruitless) bunch.

I went up to the plot this morning while it was still cool as I couldn't go inside the doors of the PT yesterday pm when we were up there as it was too hot.

Tied in all the Toms, picked the strawberries and watered and fed everything in there - it is all looking good.

Nipped out the top of the first lot of toms in the PT.  Couldn't reach the top one so will have to get the steps out tomorrow...Nice predicament.

Looks like we'll be swamped with cukes soon.  Already had a few but there's tons on the way.

Chucked out a few slugs...B@st@r**!!!  Resisted pellets up to now but next season will make more defences including electric fences round the raised beds.

There's a nice cucumber soup recipe that can be eaten hot or cold - I make loads of it and I prefer it hot ;)

Looking forward to collecting the new (2nd hand) greenhouse for plot 29 later in the week, so I can pot on the remaining chilli's
