Butane gas canisters
«

I was ordering some more gas cannisters for the stove I use to boil kettle in the shed when I spotted a reviewd by someone who also goes by the name "Tony B". Naturally I read it and then read some more. All were critical.
I realised that a lot of people are not aware of the properties of Butane. The colder it gets the harder it is for Butane to vaporise. This is why static caravans and the like use Propane. In the summer there is not a problem but as it gets colder problems arise. Its not just the temperature outside but also the act of vaporising cools the can even more. This is how fridges work, I think.
The simple solution is to remove the can and shake it or better still before you want to use it stick it under your jumper/coat.
Hope this helps some out there.

That's an interesting observation, Tony - thank you!
We often use butane like you, and while the cans are kept in an unheated loo, up high, they can get quite chilly around now!
