we use j cloths, they're great for filtering the goats milk, we drop them in boiling water after use and re use them time and time again, a lot cheeper than the filters we used to buy, milk filters, £15 per 30..................... bearing in mind they're single use milk filters.

I can top that I wash kitchen towels, bounty ones or plenty as they are calling themselves now.  Believe it or not they come out great.

I mostly use them to wipe the goldens dribbley mush as he insists on saying hallo to everyone and most don't appreciate his hooch impression.

As good as jcloths but rinse out cleaner and less smelly.

Instead of using Kitchen paper for napkins here I made some napkins using an old cotton bed throw. It was ripped to shredds after a cat attack of the bed mouse and then the washing machine decided to help it along. I couldn't mend it as the holes were just not matching up. So I cut it up into 8 inch squares and then did a zigzag stitch around the edges on my sewing machine and now we have some everyday napkins to use for our meals. :) I have cut down my kitchen towel usage by about 1/2. :) Also there was enough material to make two laundry bags from it too. :) The other cotton throws have been mended and we don't play bed mouse any longer either. :D

So what are napkins exactly?
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

j cloths will stand quite a lot of machine washing before giving up the ghost.

I always cut up old towels and stuff to make dusters etc. Every so often get the sewing machine out and have a session  :)

It's traditional in our family to use Dad's pants as dusters and rags to polish shoes
For some reason not the same thing for lady pants!?!?!?

carefull with this mind... I know someone who never calls diapers 'nappies' as we all call them over here; she gives them the full name of napkins... could be a bit messy!
