An infrequent visit for me to this forum, I sorry to say, as I do actually like messing about in the kitchen.

I somehow managed to get the first largish couple of pickings of strawberries home, instead of scoffing them before I get out of the site gates!

Anyway, they have now been converted into a gelatinous form, (jam) and are in secure sealed containers, (jam jars), in a hidden vault, (our pantry).

The next mission will be much harder - getting the peas home to the freezer.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I'm hoping it's a job just started and there will be more to come! Garage is stacked full of empty coffee jars!

Plenty of gooseberries to do, raspberries & balckcurrants should be abundant. Plums look a bit iffy though.

Ran the lables up on MS Publisher to fit a pre-cut sheet of sticky lables.

Easy matter to replace the piccie with whatever fruit is being jammed & amend the text.

Thank you kind lady!

The stack is now 27 pots of strawberry and gooseberry jam. Can't take a picce as they are now wherever I can find a hole for them!

I notice the loganberries are starting to ripen!

Used up over 1/3 of my stash of jars and not got to blackcurrant or raspberry time yet!

And here's me cutting up strips of used envelopes to write the jam type and year then slapping them on with bits of clear sticky tape.

BTW, DD - curious why you need to remind yourself it's homegrown, homemade stuff?

This stuff is earmarked for an 'Open Garden' day at a neighbours this weekend.  Has to look posh - even got some gingham for the tops!

The fresh produce will have to go in Tesc* bags, though!

I made some mixed fruit jam on saturday, due to the reasons above, eating stuff before we got to the fence, so its was blackcurrent, rhubarb and strawberry made in me breadmaker, its was fantastic, slightly runny so it soaks into me homemade bread. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :pig:
