Every time i open that round green lid a swarm of little flying nats fly in my face  
Theres thousands of them.

I dont know weather there a good thing or bad. i assume there doing the compost a load of good but how can i make them go away as there a real pain. 

Should i just put up with it and let em be, or is there somthing i can do.

you could do away with the lid and lay a plastic sheet on the surface of the compost. That should stop the flies.

They are part of the compost production team but if you leave the lid off most will disappear .

Learn to hold your breath before taking the lid off.

Yeah and put swimming gogs on 

The plastic sheet idea sounds good but i think id want some to stay as they help with the rotting.

Let them be.  They are helping to compost the compost as it were:)  Then again, there is the guy who complained about having worms in his daleks......................They should have been in the soil of the plot........................
