Tomato blight?
« on: August 21, 2008, 10:30 »
This is the first time I've ever planted tomatoes, and I'm pretty chuffed that they have tons of fruit on them. I gather I've made a few errors - letting them develop along several main stems instead of training them up one only, and have been feeding intermittently (about once a week).
An elderly neighbour took a look at my plants (which look v. healthy to me), pointed out three yellow-and-brown leaves, and said that it was the beginning of blight.
Is this true? If so, is there a way of preventing it affecting my still-perfect looking fruit?

Tomato blight?

Just lost most of my toms in open ground in home garden to blight   the only ones that survived were a variety called Hillbilly. I have greenhouse ones that are ok but not fruiting and some near the house that are going great but not ripening. I have covered these with fleece to try and prevent any blight getting to them. I wonder whether taking off some of the lower leaves sort of started it off as they were all ok up till then.
