Opens on Monday, for household rubbish and green stuff. Can you imagine the queues there will be to get in !! The only thing it says cannot be taken are electrical things. So no old vacuum cleaners, radiograms, and TV sets yet. Mrs Bouquet

MB. As far as I'm aware they never allowed any electricals to be dumped either there or in a skip.

You may well be right about the queues , stay well clear until the ' rush ' has passed , or go when it's raining.

I am not going. But they normally take anything at our tip, it is huge. Anything electrical from old freezers to old irons, old car tyres, car batteries, scrap iron and metals, in fact anything that you no longer want. The entrance has a height barrier so that commercials cannot get in. Sometimes you see the commercials parked in the road, and the guys lugging it all in by hand ::) The only thing that I know you cannot dump there is asbestos. Mrs Bouquet

Our local top in Basingstoke specifies that the waste is only that which can’t be safely stored at home?? Opens next week.
-
Ours opens on Monday but only for 'green' waste. You have to apply on line for a 'time slot' and only five cars will be allowed in at a time.

Hi household waste recycling centre rules in East Yorkshire and other local authorities are cars and small vans yes no large vans no vehicles with trailers no bulky materials (sofas fridges etc)that require 2 people to unload only 1 person per car jezza

Our recycling, garden and wood only at the mo, is bookable online only, so you get a time slot and you need to take id to get in.
