Am I still OK to sow early carrot varieties? Any suggestions for these? I'm hoping to do a successional sowing and also do a main crop variety later in the year.

I'm in Devon, with it's mild, wet climate and I have a neutral, free draining soil.

Yes, you can sow these any time really. They are varieties that mature quickly, and sowing other "maincrop" varieties at the same time means you get some succession of roots

Thanks for your reply.  I've heard of "Trevor" and "Mokum" as good early varieties.  Any experience of these, please?

My F1 Nigel are in the polytunnel and just poking their heads through.  I will be starting to sow the rest in my raised bed this week and over a two month period .  I use Eskimo, Chanteney and Autumn King for variety.

Not personally, but other may have of course 

Trevor is a Nantes type, and I do grow some of these (Nantes 5 this year) and they are reliable with a good flavour, I sowed mine in the polytunnel and like Snowy's, they are up and away now
