The trick for really good hanging baskets is to pack plants in, but then look after them really well. Water retaining gel and slow release fertiliser can be a real help. You can buy a pack of the two mixed together if you look around, but I would see what you can get hold of easily at the moment.
They need watering at least once a day and feeding every week. If you can't get the gel crystals you can use either a piece of plastic in the base of the basket or broken up oasis (flower arranging foam). If you can't get slow release fertiliser, just feed with a good liquid feed - tomato feed, Growmore.... it is all good
