Title: Primula leaves being eaten.
Post by: Rogerrocket on May 16, 2020, 08:56
 Hello everyone,
Not sure if I'm doing this right, just joined.
The leaves on some of my primulas have slowly been eaten. They just seem to die off. It's strange because only some are affected. When I moved some they seem to recover. I have treated the ground with slug pellets so it's not slug damage.

Hello and welcome to the site  :)

Do you have a picture of the plant?  It's a little difficult to envisage.

Sorry no picture but have given the plants a good spray with Provado and moved some to different ground.
I don't think it's a slug problem. One variety - primula davidii ( I think that's the name) which has small mauve coloured flowers from late December to May  (which I have had for years) has never shown this effect and the leaves are all a very healthy deep green. I think it might be a root problem, perhaps root aphids.
Tried adding photo - not sure if I have done this correctly.
