Not mine - been trying 2 years to get rid, think I need one of Aidy's nukes!!!
-
Horseradish! There's only so much sauce you can make from it and it lasts ages, by the time you have finished the last jar your plot will be overun with the stuff! We used to collect it from somewhere where it grows wild... never cultivate it unless its in a confined bed!
-
get an old plastic bucket cut the bottom of with a soldering iron .... dig hole put bucket in hole and then plant the radish in the bucket and back fill
-
the stuff thats on my plot has traveled from 4 plots away
-
Will it grow in a container like mint?
-
yups

My horseradish thongs from Shaun (cheers for those, mate!) are in a * great big pot stood on a paving slab. The pot gets used as a doorstop for my shed - holds the door open (and closed) a treat!
They're sprouting beautifully, btw - lovely purple tinged leaves :D

My horseradish thongs
I know that this is the correct term, but some of the things posted here make my mind work overtime.
I'd better go now.

right i seem to think that the thing about planting horse radish is to do it ,,carefully

Yikes, I've got some horseradish I was planning on planting - think I might have had my mind changed! I knew it could be invasive, but it's really that bad, huh? So would I be better planting it in a pot? I've got one that's about a foot square and about 1 and a half deep.... (pot, not horseradish)
:)

Dunno but I think it'll need deeper than that SC. I've got it in large forestry bags with maybe 30" of soil.
-
Hmm, ok - perhaps I'll give it a miss then, don't fancy putting it in my plot, I've got enough weeds to deal with as it is without introducing another one!
:)

all you need is a plastic dustbin with bottom cut out like karl says.bury it 12" in the soil and fill it up and plant it ,job done. if any rots find there way under the bin i dought it though just chop them off with a spade.
