Hello,

I'm new to the forum. I introduced myself last week.

One of my hens has lost the feathers around her neck. It's got steadily worse over the last few weeks. She also has a cough but hopefully some tonic might help that.

Can anyone shed any light as to why she should have lost feathers from her neck?

Hens do have "neck moults" and this maybe is what is happening with your hen and is perfectly normal

A cough isn't normal though. 

Poultry spice (given according to pack instructions) will help your girl over the moult but not the cough, which might need a vet's attention
