How to make my lawnmower deck last longer?
« on: May 30, 2012, 19:08 »
After 14 years of faultless service my honda lawnmower is dead as through my own lazziness the deck had rusted through.i've bought a reconditioned later version of the one I had with a brand new deck.

apart from cleaning the deck i there something i can spray/paint on it to make it last longer?i don't like WD40 as i think it can make some sort's of metals rust badly

clean it underneath after you've used it, don't put it away with heaps of wet muck stuck to it. Tip it backwards so that the spark plug is pointing towards the sky, disconect the spark plug lead, and scrape all the wet grass and crud off the underside. With a steel deck it's the only way to keep it in good nick for any length of time.
