i have one little bantam, she is short stocky, and lays an egg every day  
i have bought an incubater and want to hatch some myself, the problem being, i only want the short stocky ones, some of the bantams i have,  looked at are taller and slim if you know what i mean ,not short and rotund, is this a particlar variety

Just found your photo.  Is the bantam in question the little black one in the middle of the photo?  She looks like a silver sussex to me, she's lovely.  My friends broody hatched one for me but it got taken in a rat attack  :evil: .  
Your tribe looks much like mine (got 2 kids, 1 cat, 1 dog , 2 rabbbits, fish and 4 chooks! and OH whos despairs at the state of his garden!)

thanks for the info, your tribe is just like mine, yes thats henrietta she is great, so placid and an egg every day what more could you ask for, i would love some more like her, but there are so many different sorts its a bit of a gamble, ile keep you posted how i get on tracking down some eggs.
i see you live in devon, its a beautiful place, we have stayed a watermouth castle a couple of times,
