What size pots Grendel, to give Chrissie a better idea of size??

I usually find that 1 litre of double cream makes just over 1 lb of butter (plus the buttermilk). Have started adding a little - and I mean little - salt to the ones I'm freezing as we prefer lightly salted butter for spreading. It is, however, far too easy to add too much.

thanks for the help , i allways use butter in my cakes just carnt get away with margarine busting to have a go but i like to do my experimenting when hubbys at work then theres no interuptions lol .

ive scowered the shops looking for some cheap cream , any perticular shop or time of day to get this

just keep your eyes open in the supermarkets - early evening. of course just after Christmas and just before bank holidays is a great time for cream.

5 pots of channel island cream at 50p a pot, now in 2 easiyo tubs, being shaken whilst watching tv.

50 minutes later and many calories burned, and we have 2x 12 oz pats of butter from 5x 250ml pots of channel island thick cream.
