Just got my chucks
« on: May 12, 2011, 20:19 »
so excited I got 6 rescue chickens yesterday and although I was nervous about looking after them to the best that they deserve have to say Im loving it.  Got 4 eggs off them today and was over the moon as wasn't expecting much over the first few days!!  Excited that much I am rescuing another 6 tomorrow - Im addicted now wish I could rescue the lot

Still every little helps and my to young children really enjoyed having chips, beans and freshly laid eggs for their tea xx

Any advice and comments would be appreciated xx

Chickens are the most wonderful of companions (and ones that provide such great food as well, yum fresh boiled eggs  :D )
Having always rescued my hens, I know how you feel about wanting to rescue them all.  To see the change in them from the day that you bring them home is an amazing experience.  You should be warned though that it gets very addictive...  I've just re-homed another 8, which takes my total to 36 over the last few years (and it would be well over that if hubbie hadn't reigned me in!!!).
Good luck and enjoy!
 :D
