Supermarket cages

Are these any good to use as compost bins ? If not do they have any other use on the plot?

I'd have thought they would be too open to retain a) heat and b) compost.

But you could separate the four sides and use each as perhaps pea / bean 'netting' for climbing plants etc.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
