Frustrating isnt it.

I've got 1/2 the greenhouse foundations done and now everything is wet cold and slimy from the snow, and the slabs I'd stacked have frozen together into 1 big lump  :(

Its melting fast here as its +7c so theres hope for this afternoon.

We have a few inches here in Sheffield - just glad I did a few hours digging yesterday. I am playing catchup trying to get a few beds dug on an new overgrown allotment and finding the weather frustrating. When it is not too wet to dig it is frozen hard or 3 inches of snow!

3" of snow here!

I have been staying with my parents here in Norfolk for a few days and no snow here but I now have to drive back to near St Helen's which reading on here is now under snow? Noooo! Sounds like I'm going to have a pretty hideous drive home. :(

Woke up to yet more snow so spend the morning in the greenhouse - now the sun is shining  its a bright blue sky but the plot will be two inches deep in the white stuff so back to the greenhouse

Yep 2-3 inches here too. Was part way through building a stone wall for a raised bed in backyard. That'll have to be put on hold now, but the snow is a more respectable excuse than my habgover

Just wondering how the snow will effect the cement going off ?

I planned to get a lot done this weekend - digging over adding compost and leafmould e.t.c and tidying up in the garden but for the last 3 days we've had just half an inch of snow every morning and frost not much snow but just enough to turn the soil wet and everywhere's soaking around the garden and the lawn is awful. I've had enough now !

I agree that we've been spoiled over the last few years with mild winters. In 22 years of living in London I can't remember such a long period of cold and wet. Some of my overwinter onions have rotted, I have raised beds and mixed the clay soil with sand for drainage but everywhere is soaking wet. My Dobies spuds have arrived but it will be a long time before I can plant at this rate.

Sorry everyone but after a foggy start to the day had morning coffee outside in the sun  :D :D

Really did feel like spring is on the way. Tomorrow it could all change though.
