Snow!
« on: February 21, 2010, 06:20 »
Grr. Bought my fruit bushes, transplanted a two year old apple tree from its tub into a nice half-barrel, have a plum tree here ready to go, just bought yesterday. Dug over the new fruit bush area, potatoes chitting, All going nicely and SPRING IS HERE!!

So  wake up this morning to an inch of snow!!!! What is going on??

Hope my apple tree is ok. Guess I'll need to heel in the fruit bushes.

Freezing fog again here  >:(  I don't know why we expect Spring in Feb it always used to be Winter with a vengeance !

I suppose we had such mild winters of late it's all a bit of a shock. Oh well...... soon be March.   :) :) :)

It's been snowing here since 6am too!  We were supposed to be cleaning out the rest of the big shed, but OH doesn't like doing it in the snow!

So instead, after feeding and watering all the chooks and sorting out the chicks, I've been putting more shavings in the houses to give them a deeper layer to help keep warm.  The layers were busy dustbathing in them when I left!  :D

After 3 hours it has now stopped but we have a good 3'' of snow on the ground.
It's put the days plans on hold for a further week :(
