Submersible pump-help please
« on: May 29, 2009, 21:31 »
I've just got the sump pump out of the shed to use tommorrow&it wont work.
I  plugged it in,submerged it &when i tipped the pump over it tripped all the sockets in the house.I then took the bottom of to expose the impellar(?)and it wouldn't budge. After a bit of coaxing its moving freely but the same thing happened again.
  Any ideas anyone?

I came across one that did that some time ago.
It turned out that the insulation had broken down because the motor had got hot at some point.
There was no way of fixing it.
