Karl, when your hens are laying at full capacity what do you do with all the eggs?  Is it 140 per day?

i have outlets in small shops for them mate in the village and outlying shops plus orders from 3 local pub restaurants .what eggs i get the buyers get what i can supply if they want more i can get them from other chuck keepers i have contacts with. i suggest that if you want to have a good few birds you have the buyers in hand first for meat and or eggs the worst thing is seeing a compost bin with dozens of eggs chucked in it ,5 acres farm had the idea to bring in 500 birds and all the paraphernalia but didnt take account of what was being sold in the area . he lasted 2 years before selling the lot and going back to keeping a few beef fatteners and lambs
still alive /............

that also applies to anything you grow surplus .. have a table out front and a few folks who want a box  a week .be generous with a £ 5 box and you wont worry about wasting anything
