Small tree for coastal area
« on: April 30, 2015, 13:37 »
I would love to plant a birch with really white bark but I don't think it will do very well here. It would be sheltered by a 6' high hawthorn hedge but, as it grows taller, it may not grow much more than that. I have a weeping birch near a pond behind the same hedge but it started weeping just above hedge height. Is there anything else anyone can recommend?
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

That's a tricky one, Aspen has tolerance to salt and makes a virtue of wind, but can grow pretty big so perhaps not the best idea..
