Broad bean risotto - do the beans need cooking first?
« on: September 13, 2013, 11:50 »
I've defrosted a load of broad beans and removed the outer husk to reveal the lovely green bit inside. I want to use them in a risotto but am wary as I am not sure if they need to be cooked first before putting them in the risotto. I don't want to make everyone ill.
I have my own cement mixer and not afraid to use it!!

No need to cook separately, just heat them through when they are added to the risotto rice.

Bril, thanks. I had it in my head that they had to be boiled for ages first, but then they would turn to mush I guess.
Bring on the risotto.  :D
