Spinach,carrots & spring onions
« on: September 02, 2013, 10:12 »
Hello. I have three questions in one actually.

1. Is this spinach finished or can I continue picking leaves off. (see photo).

2. Can I transplant these carrots. Will it work.(see photo) I was given a small pack of seeds that came from the Action (a sort of Wilkinsons here in Holland) and I didn`t expect them all to come up and they did.
I`ve made a raised bed bed from old pallets I`ll be able to put them in.

3. Can I transplant spring onions. I put them between the spinach in a bag.

                               Thanks in advance. Mick

Yes it's finished (run to seed.)

2. Can I transplant these carrots. Will it work.(see photo) I was given a small pack of seeds that came from the Action (a sort of Wilkinsons here in Holland) and I didn`t expect them all to come up and they did.

Carrots don't like being transplanted, and the container is a little shallow for most varieties - best to leave them there and harvest as baby carrots.

3. Can I transplant spring onions. I put them between the spinach in a bag.

You can, but you could just pull out the spinach and leave the spring onions (you may have to replant a few that come out with the spinach, and a liquid feed probably wouldn't go amiss either.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older
